Art Nouveau was an artistic movement that emerged in Europe during the late 19th century and lasted until the 1920s. Characterized by the use of organic forms, such as flowers, plants, and animals plus asymmetric and sinuous lines, which were inspired by nature. Art Nouveau was concerned with aesthetics and decorative elements, and it was used in various art forms, including architecture, interior design, graphic arts, furniture, glass art, textiles, ceramics, jewelry and stained glass windows.Those glass windows were a common feature in Art Nouveau architecture and design.
Art Nouveau was a response to the industrialization of society and the desire to break away from traditional art forms. The movement aimed to blur the boundaries between fine arts and applied arts and it was influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement in England and popularized in France by the Maison de l'Art Nouveau, an art gallery opened in Paris in 1895. That movement, Art Nouveau, spread quickly throughout Europe and around the world.
