Algumas editoras como a Dover Press (falaremos em breve desta) se esmeram em publicar livros com material iconográfico (eles chamam de Dover Pictorial Archives) ou falando especificamente de bibliofilia e tipografia. Outra é a Oak Knoll Books. Este tipo de trabalho editorial caminha desde o inicio dos tempos da tipografia e muitos dos primeiros e principais tipógrafos eram livreiros, como é o caso de Aldus Manutius, que antes de tipógrafo era verdadeiramente editor (Hypnerotomachia Poliphili). Nada mais justo que algumas casas se especializem na história da própria tipografia, ou, como diria William Baskerville, em O Nome da Rosa, "livros que falam de livros", nesta caso, de letras.

Uma pechincha em se tratando de um livro com specimens caligraficos dos tres mais importantes mestres caligrafos do século XVI. SIM, EU TAMBEM ESTOU PRODUZINDO FONTES BASEADAS NELES. Arrighi é tão crucial para a hitória da escrita e tipografia que saiba voce que a tua escrita do dia a dia e os caracteres romanos que lês todos os dias em jornais e revistas foram criados originalmente por Aldus Manutius sob influencia estética de Arrighi.

Como sou um sujeito azarado há poucos dias gastei meu saldo em dólares que estava no pay-pal e não posso comprar estes livros. Acho que vou apelar para o cartão de crédito ou para a boa alma de algum cliente interceder em meu favor.
